About This Giclee
This landscape ultimately depicts the rural topography and history of Kauai. In order to execute this masterpiece, James was given special permission from the McBride Sugar Company to set up his easel on their fields in 1981.

An extraordinary setting captured by James and he was tremendously excited and inspired with the results.
A stunning image was created with all the various trees, the intense reds of the African Tulip Trees, with the lush green foliage of the Hau and Monkeypod Trees along with the luminous colors of the bougainvillea and wildflowers.

The Koloa Sugar Mill was the first mill in the state of Hawaii and it is no longer harvesting sugarcane.
